you will have some issues with vista
what i have seen now is that this is cos of the permissions on the folder (rightclick on the winamp Folder, properties, tab security)

I made some changes there and scanning works and no more messages "unable to create...."

Maybe someone finds this useful

I\'ve had the same problem: right-click on the winamp folder in Program Files\\
Then securty
Then select you user in the list and click edit
Now click on Modify and Write.
